Nokia 6: “Connecting People” Forever

“Nokia”- with the slightest reference to this name, we remember the sturdy smartphone company. Since the beginning of mobile phone era, Nokia has provided the mobile phones which are strong and have a longer battery life. With the arrival of Android OS, Symbian fell back and so did Nokia.

The year 2017 proves to be the turning point for the company. Nokia is launching its first Android device, named Nokia 6, expectedly on April 5, 2017. Now, let’s check out if you should go for it or not:

Design and Display

The display on this device is 5.5 inches full HD with pixel density. It will be an IPS LCD type display with Corning’s Gorilla Glass v3. The screen supports capacitive touch with the multi-touch feature. The device has 71.27% screen to body ratio. It will have a fingerprint sensor mounted on the front side of the device for secure and faster unlocking. The build material for casing and back is aluminium. The device will be available only in black colour variant.

Software, Performance, and Storage

The device will be arriving with Android 7 (Nougat). At the heart of this device is Qualcomm Snapdragon 430, which is an octa-core processor with 64bit architecture. The GPU on this device is Adreno 505, and the device is backed by a powerful 4GB RAM. Onboard storage is 64GB, and it can be expanded up to 128GB with a microSD card, and yes it does support USB-OTG.

Camera, Battery, and Connectivity:

It has got two cameras, one on the front side and another on the rear side. The rear camera is 16MP autofocus with dual LED flash, and the front camera is 8MP. The device is powered by 3000mAh Li-Polymer type battery.

The device will be dual SIM device with both SIMs being GSM. Supported networks are 4G with Indian bands, 3G and 2G. It also supports Wi-Fi and GPS. The device itself can work as a mobile hotspot for data sharing. Bluetooth v4 is provided for faster transfer over Bluetooth. The sensors on this device are light, proximity, compass, gyro meter, accelerometer, and fingerprint.


The price for this device in India is expected to be around 16k. This device is worth buying; all the features provided suit the current market requirements.
